gas tank

Hello, i have a 1980 ford f250, 4x4, long bed, single gas tank. The truck does not have a gas tank in it and that is how i bought it so i have no idea where it should be mounted. Does anyone know were the gas tank is supposed to be mounted or atleast how i would be able to find that out?

Er, directly across from the filler? There should be 2 bolts (or at least holes), and two oblong slots for the other end of the tank straps.
