i got called last night to tow a truck at 10:30. go up and do that whole thing bring the roll back back to the shop and start driving home at around 1:30. by this time im really tired and am about 5 mins from home and top a hill, and here is this nice 8 pointer sitting in the road. i hit it. i pull over look at my truck, and the only real damage i have is my bumper was pushed back into the tire, i bent a fog light on my push bar, and a dent underneath the headlight. this is going 60-65.
now the deer on the otherhand, didnt look so good. busted off one side of the antlers and ran it over with both passenger side tires. needless to say, it was dead on the side of the road.
called the cops, and someone came out and helped me pull the bumber back so it doesnt rub on my tire and whatnot.
THESE ARE SOME TOUGH TRUCKS
granted my pushbar saved my grill and radiator, and prolly kept it from going up in stead of under the truck.
but still, im proud to say my truck was built ford tough.
now i just have to fix the not so tough parts....
after the wreck in my 95 (yes your trucks evil twin) the father in law saw the damage and said straight up "glad it wasnt me, my truck wouldve been F**ked!" he drives a bran new chebby LOL mostly plastic, more medal on the rims than any where else i T-boned an SUV at about 30MPH with the same damage you have plus a smashed headlight and bent fender/valence...you should have seen the other guy
come on, it aint an evil twin..
lol
well got the bumper off, and dont really know what im gonna do to replace it yet.
i have this megaparts place that is like a house down the road from me, and they deal mostly in mopar, but im gonna see if they have anything interesting.
gotta say looks kinda mean without a bumber though
gotta say looks kinda mean without a bumber though
yes they do lol, but they look better with bad *** winch bumpers
mine will be the evil twin if you do the 351 swap LOL
i remember the first time i saw a pic of your truck i was like HOLLY ***** SOMEONE IS STALKING MY TRUCK! ... and i actually saw another one like ours too, same color wheel base and 4x4 no clue on engine/tranny though...but the body on his truck was MINT haha
ya now all i need is a few hundred dollars for my trans and a long weekend to swap it out when i wont need my truck at all to get that 351 in.
there is one like ours round here also, and 2 lapis blue flareside, one is just blue and one has black graphics on it.
well, i got a bumper. its off of an old dodge, mid 70's, but it was $10 and not a dent or scratch, and comes with some really heavy duty tow hooks. so i figured why not. hopefully het that on tonight after work.
i personally would never swap my 6 for an 8 (no offense) but i just did the thermostat on my 302 and that a 5 min job in a 300 well **** i had to rip half the engine apart to get at the Tstat on the 302
I used to be a chevy guy just got my ford 89. the only thing is ford does some wierd things. Like all those vacum lines haveing one hell of a time right know figuering it out. would rather drive a chevy then a dodge though
ya, but you cant get the power out of a 6 that you can out of a 8. i love my I6 to death, but i wanna get this truck set up for improved stiock mud races, and the I6 just isnt gonna work for me.
i hate the new chevy 1/2 tons, look gayer than all get out, the duallys look good though, and i absloutely love the new dodge, we got an 05 std cab short box, hemi, and its NICE! but my next truck is gonna be a diesel, either 6.0, 6.6 or the 5.9. all really good motors, and all can get really good power out of them
the new dodge is the first ive ever liked goin back to the 70s haha...i havent like chevy since early 80s...and the 09 ford is the first good one since 97 LOL
yes, you can get great power from a 300 just gotta be willing to throw the money and time at it because the aftermarket isnt that great. but a twin screw supercharger will make the 300 push 450hp @ 7 or 9 lbs boost, i forgot which

i only like the looks of the new dodge...but the old 70s dodges were the same as every other domestic bred pick up, tough as nails, still not quite as tough as the fords were though HAHAHA
i got a 76 chev 3/4 ton STD ca long box 350/4speed 4x4 that i have to restore one day, strong ole truck, pretty well rotten away by now, it hasnt been driven in probably 8 years it been in the field

i want to know exacly were you found a supercharger for the 300 cause i would buy it tomorrow if i found one.
a guy had one on a 50s model ford, i cant remember the details but it was a twin screw style and he ran at either 7 or 9 psi and produced 450hp, but he could also have other mods, ill see if i can dig it up for ya
