both banks too lean

my work van (not mine I just drive it) has the check engine lt lit. so i pulled the codes there were 3 EGR flow which cleared. but 2 that wont clear are bank 1 too lean and bank 2 too lean. so whats leaning it out? any ideas? the first thing that comes to mind is fuel pressure. pump? filter? it does have 130K+ miles on it.

Clean the EGR and intake system. When you get a lean code with over 100K it can be from the EGR system and intake being clogged or a vacuum leak.

My Expedition did the same thing last month. It started when I pulled off the highway one night and the engine started surging and stalling and almost died at a stoplight. It ran fine above 1000 rpm but at idle would barely run. After a lot of digging around I found the large vacuum line at the back of the throttle body had an elbow that had collapsed and torn. I replaced it and everythning went back to normal.

I just found the same condition on my E350. Hose going into the throttle body was split allowing too much air in.
