help dropping fuel tank

im going to drop my side fuel tank. is it a pretty easy procrdure? i know i have to remove the screws at the filler and straps. tank is empty. anything else? also if i remove the tank can i still run on the rear if i seal up the fuel lines? if so whats the best way to seal them up so road grime does not get in them? thanks

Support the tank with a floor jack whilst you are disconnecting lines, you'll be able to lower it and roll it out without trying to bench press it underneath the truck. If you're lucky, your filler will have hose clamps at the bottom to let you disconnect it from the tank. If not, you have to wrestle it out of the grommet/seal thing on the tank.
