My buddy Donald (Tacson) pointed this out to me. I am still alive. Just in worse shape. I rolled my 2001 explorer in July. They say it flipped once in the air and 3 times on the ground. I was not speeding at the time. They think I fell asleep. After that..well...who knows.
I have huge pics of the wreck on my photobucket (too large to post here):
I walked away. I sustained bruises and cuts all over. They dug glass and asphalt out for hours. I still get a piece of glass out once in a while. The main injury was my left arm was busted a few inches above the elbow. The jagged break was shoved up toward my shoulder, so a lot of nerve and muscle damage. I have a rod from my shoulder to my elbow now (in the center of the bone). I don't have a lot of movement from the arm and almost no strength.
Which brings us to the 56. Its actually at my brothers house up in Missouri at the moment. The water pump went out on it (minor). He will fix it for me (has a big garage-i am so jealous) to work in. Then get it back down here. I can't drive it though. Not with my arm like this.
As far as wheels (again huge pics) I have a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer. Same thing as the explorer.
The explorer did not die in vain. My brother bought it for the parts. He is going to resurect my 89 ranger I bought new. I drove it for 16 years and he has driven it until he blew the engine. No clue how many miles. LOL
We have the explorer (well not me obviously) totally stripped as far as the body. I mean every bolt. Every one. He will use most of the parts to modify the ranger (engine..trans..t-case..wiring..dash...air bags...cruise..tilt..etc.). He wanted the rear end..but I said no! the 4.10 track lock rear and the front will go in my mercury.
Dad will cut the body (whats left of it) up for scrap as we start on the frame and suspension. The frame will get cut up too.
That is about it for now. Can't work on anything (no strength) and cant drive the 56.
Brian_B,
Good to here from you. Sounds like you have been thru a lot in the last few months. What is the prognosis for the arm? Glad to have you back my friend.
brian...
Major bummer about the accident. I'm very glad that it wasn't anymore serious. Do the physical therapies and don't believe everything the doctors tell you.
My brother was in a terrible rollover as a teen, broke both legs, one arm, and dislocated his left shoulder. The left shoulder was stretched out so bad and the nerves so completley trashed that they told him he would never use it again. They alos told him he'd have only partial mobility in one leg.
He told them all to **** off. His legs are great and he has full use of his left arm.
A strong will and lots of determination. We're all pulling for you
Bobby
We LOVE you Brian !! Glad to have you back dude! I just always thought of this place as an insane asylum run by the inmates, or the "Henry Ford Clinic" as I like to call it. Glad to hear your doing better, of course, I do see you post on Face Book every now and then. Sorry I havent got your door panels to ya, but I've been busy and kind of down too. Take it easy and keep your hopes up.
The reason I was thinking about you was Jake and I went to Burger King, then to my wifes work, and then to the post office.
EVERYWHERE we went Jake had the chick magnet on! For those of you who do not know, Jake is my 5 yr old with a disability, but the ladies sure do love him!
Glad to hear from you Brian, and keep us up to date.
