I recently picked up this truck off my brother he put a new 300 engine in it and had to add an electric fuel pump. So my problems are 1 I dont know if im missing a switch? only my brights work im assuming its 1 pull for dims and 2 for brights?
And also my gas gauge does not work for either tank from what i know it stopped working for both right away. I can hear it click when i move the toggle switch but no movement on the gauge
lol wow i never would have guessed it was on the floor thank you
I have gas in it i can hear the switch when i move it so im assuming that it works cause if i change to an empty tank it stops running. im still in the process of checking wires but everything seems to be connected.
other things that are different than the newer cars... rotate headlight switch left to turn dome on, right to dim dash lights, push wiper switch for washer. My dimmer switch in my 88 toyota is going bad (lights blink off with turn sig) I was just thinking yesterday I MIGHT GET A FLOOR SWITCH AND A toggle for on/off
And don't forget if you push the turn signal lever FORWARD, you just might discover you have a tilt wheel.
I always wondered why the dimmer switch was moved from the floor to the steering wheel. All new vehicles have the dimmer on the steering wheel now. I always thought it was easier and more convenient on the floor.
My guess is the PO didn't wire in the gauge circuitry correctly (if at all) when installing the
electric fuel pump(s). A Haynes or Chiltons manual may help you here, their wiring
diagrams may be useful enough to help with this.
