Front tow hooks

I know I've seen it before but I can't find it.
I am looking in to putting front hooks on. I was looking at a 05? F150 hooks that bolt straing on the bottom of frame. I looked at my truck and the springs are there so that won't work as a "bolt on and go". Any other ideas?

Don't bolt anything to the stock bumper mounts... they are crap! Bolt to the frame or forget about it.

ok so do what i'm going to do and weld in some supports on y'alls bumper mounts!!!!!!! LoL. take some 3/8" flat plate steel and cut it the height of the mounts and long enough to go a 45* angle to meet the frame. weld it in and your done. for a little added strength build another piece from the same steel to go from the bottom of the mounts cut the angle out so it stays with the other support and weld it up on all sides including to your other suppot. do that again on top also. mounts wont move then will they??? LoL. or you can just bolt your hooks to the frame and still bend the mounts when you hit your next deer or whatever you may hit... haha. i plan to do this eventually when i park my truck for a bit. i'm doing it to the F150 first so i can get it down then it will be easy on the stroke

You can do it two different ways with relative ease.
1. Bolt the hook to a piece of 3/8" thick angle iron and bolt that the side of the fram rail through the front of the frame tube.
2. Cut 2 small notchs in the bottom of your stock bumper at the frame rails to go around the hooks and bolt them to the frame directly.

No way would I do it like the first link, but that second link is a great setup. I have seen GM trucks with hooks that look sort of like that, maybe they are GM hooks? I built a new bumper with a 2" reciever in it and an insert with a shackle instead of a hook.
