Morris I bet if you had asked everyone what new toolls they have looked at lately, everyone would have somethin' to say. We know how much you guys like talkin about tools.....
Sawzall's are awesome, bought my Dad one lately..... can do some major damage in no time!
I like em both, and own em both, but have been buying more and more dewalt stuff lately. My womans uncle is one of the top guys at Makita so we really get some excellent deals from him. Last thing i bought was a hefty half inch hammer drill, for a cool 20 bucks!
milwaukee makes perhaps the most precise miter saw a tradesman can buy. i have one that i use on a regular basis, and i have my eye on the new 12" dual sliding compound that they have. i'll get it when i can set up my shop for shop only and not storage/truck garage. its a very heavy saw, not very good for a portable. rigid (sold by Home Depot) makes some very high rating tools as well. the only experience i've had with them is a compressor, which has had an oil leak in the switch from day 1. then a series of unfortunate events caused the fan to become busted. after it sitting in regina at the service center for 3 months, i fixed the fan myself with an automotive fan, and i keep it in the shop where the oil leakage doesn't hurt anything. long story short, might be great tools, but the service is the pits.
I know your ladies unc there. That is who got me my Chop saw.
Yesterday finally finished putting in new water pump and power steering pump in the Taurus. What amaze to get everything in and out. 2 day job. Today should start it. Had to boost the battery it was stone dead. It is 6 years old.
Will register it tomorrow so my wife cab start to drive it.
Also did some more cleaning of my shop. The neat little trinkets I find from days gone by. Got too much stuff thrown in boxes. As I go through them, more stuff hitting the garbage bin.
I still have to change the starter on the Escort. My 86 I think I need to change the U joints. Getting bad vibrations when going down the highway. More so when building speed. It sure feels like a U joint or the hanger bearing.
So still have work here before snow flys.
As for tools I got me the new flat deck you all know about and a 10,000 lb winch to go with it.
i brought back my dads old snowblower as he's upgraded to a new one. had to take it apart to fit under my tonneau cover, so my chore before the winter is to put it together and give it a tune up... and winterize all the summer toys...and if my wallet allows, some nice meats for my faithful steed...
