im lookn to upgrade my 00 7.3 for my buddies 03 6.0 it has 95k miles 6 speed cold air intake starit pipe exhaust 8 inch lift and 38 inch he runs it kinda hard but keeps all maintance up never had a problem and it runs like a top. it has the bullly dog programmer on it my ? is it is on the lowest setting tow i beleive and the programmer got smashed as he set it on tire and forgot bout it. it ran like a scalded dog on the extreme im a dp tuner fan and will prolly go with one if o get the truck my ? is it has the bully dog program now what do i do? and will the dp tunes run as good as the bully dog extreme tunes? anything special to check on these trucks too
You will find that most people highly recommend that you keep the OEM air intake and that you do not use generic power tuners such as the ones listed in your post. These modifications have a proven track record of causing problems for the 6.0 PSD.
Take the truck to ford and have them re flash it that should get rid of the bully dog. You need to get either a sct or Spartan phalnx with custome tunes for the 6.0. I don't think you can even get a dp for the 6.0.
Yes i see that I love dp tuner. How good will a 6o run with a sct. With the bully dog in extreme the clutch would totally slip in 4 th 5th and 6th gear 2nd and 3rd would jus smoke tires from a like 2000 rpm and matting it. I was very impressed as my 7.3 doent run near that good
DP does tuning for the 6.0, they just use the SCT to deliver the tunes.
Stock intake and no tuners that say shift on the fly for these trucks. Shift on the fly and properly tuning a 6.0 is mutually exclusive. Custom tunes all the way.
