I have a ? about my 2 barrel carb, the flap dont work with the throttle, its held open by a spring, is the carb suppose to open and close with the throttle? and if i were to upgrade to a 4 barrel, would i need to change intake. and if so which one would u recommend?

Gee if you don't know these little things about your carb, you shouldn't be messing around with it and any other stuff you know nothing about or your truck won't be running again. If you were just changing the carb out to another carb the same then Okay. And no you can't install a 4-barrel carb and have it running good on a 2 barrel manifold. The whole intake has to be changed out ok. So, I say it's time to get some books on how to do all this stuff. And read them to the point of complete understanding the how to do it.Or get a few friends that know what there doing to help you on doing any of this type of work.. My 2cents PS the auto choke plate stays closed until you start it up,then it will open about 1/4" or so if it's working right, then as it warms up it opens more until fully open..
