My dad has an 04 6.0 superduty with a 6 speed. He the CEL would come on every so often so he took it to the dealer and they replaced the fuel filters. The light came back on so he went back to the dealer and they had cracked a fitting on the fuel line so they fixed that. They also told him his cooling system may need repair and told him it would be around $2000!
I would have asked more questions but i was not with him Is this a common problem? Anyway to fix it before he has to drop 2g's?
Read some of the MANY posts in here on oil cooler problems with the 6.0 engines.
Does he tow with the truck? Has he lost coolent thru the overflow cap? Check for white residue around the top of the coolent jug. If it's there, the oil cooler is prob plugged and needs replacing/repair.
