Just curious how many King Ranch owners we have online? Someday before i die I just might own one off these. Are they worth the extra dollars? Ill feel like Im rich or I will think i am when Im in one off these. Thanks guys
I have the Lariat leather package.. All the KR I looked at looked REALLY worn, sweated on, stained leather.. I can't imagine the work to take care of this to keep it up.. much like I can't do that on my leather couch at home either...
so, its just cover material for me.. and not worth it.. unless you are dying for the quad buckets and dual consoles.. I want to be able to lay down, so that doesn't work for me..
Yeh it looks like a high maintenance deal with all the leather interior. Never thought off that. Thanks for the reply. Anybody own one on here. More input needed.
I have one and I love it. When I first got it two years ago though, the seats were faded pretty bad, felt dry and I was extremely paranoid about getting them dirty(but that passed...for the most part). I researched online re conditioning or possibly even re dying the seats and I ended up trying Leather CPR which is a conditioner I got online from HomeDepot.ca. I used a whole can on my drivers seat and it made my front seat turn really dark and wet but the morning after when it had dried my drivers seat was nearly as dark as my rear seats were, all the scratches in the seat were barely visible if not completely gone and was as soft as ever. Needless to say I ordered like 10 more bottles(to get free shipping) and reconditioned the whole truck. Now I'm not too paranoid over my seats. After washing with warm water and a soft cloth I lifted some pretty big messes that I didn't think would come out from friends spilling greasy food or drinks on the leather to my 120 lb. german shepherd covered in mud with sharp claws laying on my back seat to my steering wheel being black after having oils on my hand from work. I'm definately impressed with the durability of my leather and how it has stood up. It is a bit of extra maintenance (I condition the seats about once a month) but I also love working on my truck so I'm not too concerned.
Saddle soap and mink oil will take care of those seats. I had an '02 F150 and loved it. I just wish it would have been a F250 and I'd still be driving it. I didn't think the KR leather was that much work.
I love mine to death. I've wanted one ever since they came out. Worth the extra money? Probably not, but hey you only get to live once. The seats do take some care. I wash and Lexol mine about once every two to three months, but no big deal.
I have a 2003 CC King Ranch that I bought used in 2005. The front leather seats were not in great shape. They were dryed out but I was able to fix them by using a leather conditioner that I bought at a motorcycle shop. My cousin raises horses and suggested that I use linseed oil. The leather is the same as the leather used on saddles and that is what is used on alot of saddles. I have been using linseed oil since and it keeps my leather in great shape.
I have to add that I love my King Ranch but I could never see myself buying one new.
bought mine in march of 2009 and in my opinion it's the mack daddy of all interior's. I have always had horses and saddle's so keeping the seats in new condition is no problem for me i used to use leather new but i like the lexol product's better but they are a little higher in price but as the old saying goes you get what you pay for. my son-in-law also has one and he has neglected his leather and you can tell it . leather requires maintaince but the look of rich leather say's it all. i will never own anything else but remember you don't want it in a work truck check my pic's
I live on a horse farm and have been farming my whole life. Pretty much these trucks are the top of the top in the horse world. If you've got one, everyone wants a ride lol.
