Hello If I have posted this twice I apologize. I have a 351 Windsor in my 1956 F-100 it also has a Mustang II front end clip. The collectors on my current shorty headers are so close to the motor mounts they are melting the rubber. What headers should I be running or should I go to solid steel motor mounts and if so which ones. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Floyd
im not sure but i would think you would not want solid steel motor mounts as that would not give the vibration from the motor anywhere to go and would end but cracking something. not sure on what headers would work as i have no experiance with your combo. I say just turn um over and run um straight up through the hood. lol
Thanks guys for the suggeestions but the Clipster Headers are real close to what I already have. I need the exhaust to come out in the rear of the headers and not in the center. I may have found a set at BBK Headers.
you might be able to solve your problem by making a stainless steel sheet metal shield bolted betweeen the motor mount and the block to divert the heat away from the mounts or maybe a header wrap kit like summit sells
