I've got to tow my 1965 f100( two wheel drive v8 with manual trans). I was wondering if my 2750 GVW tow dolly would do it safely. I believe the truck shows 5000 lb GVW but that from what I understand is not the actual curb weight which is less. I've towed a Dodge mini van with the dolly but not a pickup. It's a master dolly in good shape. Has anyone done this. Thanks again to Jowilker and others. L:efty Rodan
You truck should weigh under 4000lbs. My 66 lwb FE is about 3800lbs.
First off, is the dolly wide enough to get the truck on it? Some of the lighter weight dollys will not allow a truck between the fenders. If it fits, the wheel bearings serviced, I'd load it up and pull it.
ditto...
my 61 unibody long wheelbase just scaled out at 4000lbs and i dollied it behind my 2000 dodge durango.. give yourself plenty of stopping room and don't be in a hurry
