I put this in the general discussion forum for all of FTE as well, but I thought I would get some 7.3 advice as well.
Has anyone ever taught overseas through a program? I am looking into the idea for a lady friend and myself. Preferably a 1 year contract would be great. I am trying to get into China, Japan, or Korea.
Any insight or info would be awesome. Both of us have 4 degrees from colleges, but are not teachers by trade.
I've taught in Russia and in Finland from 1999 to 2004. I thought about teaching in Japan, China, etc but most schools want their instructors to hold a BA/BS degree in any discipline. The pay for ESL instructs is not very high, so don't plan to make a living at it. Make sure you have extra cash with you. Most of by students where business professionals. There is a wealth of information via the Internet. Google it.
im in the enlisted army as a all series mechanic and i have insturctors from IH,CAT,CUMMINS, fabricators,MRAP (mine resistant anbush protected) vehicle techs a/c pros,and i dont know what kind of teafching you are talking about but anything that has to do with training armed forces. you will have a great time,god attitude and a lil joke/humor and learn the course and test out.. plus there is a lot of people in the mill. that really shouldent be here so its 8th grade reading level..(not that i cn write that well but we all have our talents)
