New to this "Ford" Lingo.... I continually hear about "X"-plan (insert letter of choice in place of "X").
I kinda figure that they are discount programs, but could somebody explain what they are, and how to get them? I might want to pick up another Ford in the near future, and this could be some great information...Thanks!

There are 2 different plans through Ford, the A-plan and the X-plan. The A-plan is the ford employee pricing program, and the X-plan is the Ford partner program.
As you can guess, Ford employees are the only ones eligible for the A-plan. The X-plan is for businesses who are part of the Ford partnership program, and the employess of those business become eligible for X-plan membership. I am a member of the X-plan, and I can verify that there is no buying experience like it. You basically go to a dealership, pick out the new car you want, and walk inside and tell the sales person you are an x-plan member. They print out a copy of the invoice, and calculate the x-plan price which is usually about halfway between invoice price and a-plan member price, both of which are listed on the invoice sheet they print out. At that point, you are done. You then decide to do the deal or not, and you're on your way. The only thing you have to negotiate is the trade in value of your car if you have one.
x-plan is basically 1% over invoice. A lot of big companies will have a deal with Ford to offer X-plan to their employees. Its a no hassle way of buying.
