Just brought a 1995 ford f150 4x4, has a couple of issues:
1. While driving sometimes the check engine light will come on and then the truck will began to lose all power and struggles to accelerate, I can pull over turn off the motor and start again and the issue goes away for a bit. Any suggestions?
2. The speedometer and odometer are not working, is there an easy fix for this??
For the first issue, you should pull the codes and see what the computer is trying to tell you. Insert jumper wire as shown here: EEC IV Self Test hookup but leave out the test light/analog voltmeter, and count the blinks on the check engine light.
Second issue, does the mileage show up and it just doesn't count up? Is the RABS light turned on? If so, start by checking the speed sensor in the rear differential.
I have no experience to help you. A couple suggestions though, #1 people are going to want to know what engine & #2 have you pulled codes. If so, what are they. They're a lot of experienced people here who can help. Have personally had a lot of help from Conanski. I suggest you list the answers to the questions I listed above & see what replies you get. Just based on what I've seen here, you'll need the answers to those questions for help. Good luck & welcome to .
