Did anyone get upset watching "Trucks" as someone decided to use a decent looking dentside for a Demo truck ??? New rule should be that they only use Chevy's or Dodge's or a total rust bucket Ford. It also good to see them using the Ford 9" rear end for their Chevy Demo truck.
Yes it makes me mad. The new rule should be 1990s and newer trucks and Toyata and Nissan type econobox trucks. Just look at what they've done to the great fullsize cars of the 70s, just disgusting.
Yea I know people would rather destroy something like that than restore it. A friend of the family had a 1969 Lincoln Contin. Town Car with 4 door Suicide doors an no rust none at all factory engine everything like 45K miles on it paint mint looks like came from factory yesterday dash not cracked leather interior not cracked need a carb thats it. An before I knew it he took it to the crusher an got like $600 or so out of it.
YEAH.... I don't know about those new guys. I liked it alot better with stacey david. Have you seen the crew cab dentside they're putting on a dodge frame with a cummins? I know it'll be a Fodge or a Dord..... But I can appreciate that!

I liked the ones with Stacey too. These guys do good work though.
There's a thread talking about there cummins dentside build.
Not much to add to the thread other than "they bought the trucks - they can do with them what they want" and the fact that even seeing older dodges and chevys smashed up kinda saddens me.
But oh well - back on to the real point of this post...
AirSmitty - I LOVE the pic in your signature. Put a smile on my face and made me chuckle. Makes me want to hit the dirt (no snow around here) and slide the truck a bit
well its even more disgusting to watch for a rust belter like myself, who has spent money and worked hard just to restore a truck, and the time i have spent looking for parts, is insane, but worth it, but still it brings a tear to my eye to see one destroyed, and its a shame to see anything good get destroyed, but the 73-79 Ford's are classics, and i don't think they should be in demo derby's, i am just glad the cash for clunkers didn't extend into these trucks in the U.S., but up here in Canada our mini cash for clunkers will credit cars/trucks 1995 and older, thus a lot of classics are at risk up here, well the ones that remain in the low end,
and i agree Stacey was a way better host than these new guy's
i like the part of the show where the one guy was using a sledge to straighten something out on the dentside truck in the derby..... lol lol he breaks his hammer, than says it must be a cheap hammer! lol lol
no it wasn't a cheap hammer..... he was just hitting a tough old Ford!
but sad to watch it all go down, "old fullsize cars are getting hard to find, thus there going to these trucks" that statement has reinforced my plans of hordering more parts, so everyone! do what you can, hoard as many parts and trucks as you can! or things are going to start to get tough in the next 5-10 years,
Some may bash them but look at some of the '67-'73 C/K10/20 Chevy/GMC on CL and you'll find their are bunch of restored era of those trucks.
I saw just the end of the Demo Dreby when they made the comment of the Lone Ford out there being towed back to the pit and I thought that was a Bump side, but I just got a glimpse of it.
