I found my bed!!!!
During the time the PO drove this truck, he left the topper windows open and one of his wife's cats clawed a big hole in one of the screens and was able to gain access to the bed...

I've been having a problem with condensation forming on the roof of the topper and came to realize that it was probably because of the carpet and pad - it had been acting as a sponge, trapping water, for who knows how long...

So, today, I decided to tear the carpet and pad out of the bed. I cleaned out enough cat hair to make a small pillow with (anybody want a cat hair pillow?)

The PO had used self-tapping screws all the way around the edge of the carpet to hold it down and, after I got everything out, I found out I had a bed bolt missing but, overall, I'm very surprised at the condition I found the bed to be in...
It had been covered for most of it's life, I guess - It had a camper covering it at one time and now, it has a topper covering it...Here's a shot of the front of the bed - I'm not sure what the purpose of the duct tape is for lol - I'll have to pull that out someday:

Here's a shot of the rest of the bed - I've still got some little bits of carpet attached close to the tailgate - I'll need to take a cutter or grinder to those screws as the heads are in too bad of shape to use a screwdriver on:

Another shot of the middle section of the bed:

I was expecting for there to be more rust than there actually is - I've already sprayed some rust treatment on the spots I saw - the underside of the bed is in good shape also. The wheel arches are shot to hell but that's a project for another day...
