A/c compressor seal
Hey guys, don't spend too much time on this forum I'm usually on the super duty side, so can one of you point me in the right direction in finding some info? Thanks. My wife has a 2000 expedition with the 4.6 and it looks like either the a/c hose or the seal at the compressor is leaking oil, it looks like it may be more likely the o-ring seal than the hose. Can this be repaired with out taking the compressor off, it looks like it maybe can be accessed by taking the wheel off, has anyone done this repair? It looks like the hose assy. has a 0-ring seal behind the block holding the hose to the compressor, or is it a diffrent type of seal? Any input would be welcome, I would like to take care of this before it gets worse. We still need our a/c down here, it has been in the 90's until today, we finally got a cold front and it was only 76 degrees, but it will warm up again in a few days. Thanks for your help.

For the $9.50 plus shipping you can get the o-ring and gasket set for your A/C compressor.

You will of course have to evacuate and then recharge the system when you're done replacing the seals.
