Wheel Sizes

I have an 09 F150 FX4 with 18 in wheels on it. I am looking at putting a new set of wheels and tires to give it a little beefier look but I am so confused as to what mm and offset I need. Can someone tell me if an 18X9 -12mm 6/135 with Lt285 or 295's will fit on my truck? If not can some tell me what the correct mm and offset or lug spacing I need? It seems the more I read the more confused I get... What happen to the days of 33/34/35 by rim size tires lol?

You need a 6x135mm bolt pattern.

Those -12mm offset wheels will stick out a lot. This hurts your chances of running big tires. If you go to a +18mm you could run 35s on just a 2.5" level. Maybe 33s without. The +18 wheels won't stick out much more than stock.

I hope this gives you a start on understanding this stuff. There is a ton of info on it just do some searching. The 04-08 forum has tons too, and it applies mostly.

Thanks for the information and the education. I would like to say I understand it but truthfully the more I read the more I get confused. I'm not really looking to go with big tires just a little beefier maybe 33's or 34's,,, probably 295's or 305's at the most. I really found a set of moto metals I like but they only come in the -12mm and in my state they can't stick our past the wheel well. The search continues
