oil leak question

oil leak question
So i had oil leaking from DS valve cover gasket, so i changed it... leak stopped, then i notice oil gushing out right above the oil filter... somebody please tell me that this is NOT the head gasket. please it would make me feel so much better.. i am new to fords so i do not know for sure

'88 F150 4x4 5.0L ... 302

What motor? is right around the oil filter or is it farther above? Could it be the oil cooler leaking? (if equipped)

sorry about lack of info, 88 F150 4x4 w/ 5.0L .... the oil comes from above the oil filter
