Fuel Mileage during breakin
I've been tracking my mileage since I got the truck in June. I do quite a bit of highway driving, mostly 65 mph, driving some gravel and in and out fields, and very little towing.
I've got 38,000 km (about 23,500 miles) and my overall avg. is 15.43 L/100km or 18.41 mi/ imperial(Cdn)gal or 15.13 mi/US gal. Feel free to check my conversion, we Canadians love to make things complicated!!
I've run this spreadsheet on the last 4 trucks I've done this type of work with and this is comparable to the 2 GM's ('07 and '08), better than the '05 F150 and much better than the '01 Dodge. But driving this truck is more than just fuel mileage, it's a way better all around truck to drive!!
I definitely agree with the comments about fuel mileage numbers people give meaning very little, driving style, conditions... all contribute. That's why I run this spreadsheet, this way I can track my mileage over all my driving with different trucks.
