CDR valve question

Would cleaning the cdr valve possibly increase power or is this just a wonderful figment of my imagination?

Nope, I don't think so - the CDR is just a vent for the crankcase oil vapors that closes at WOT, it provides no additional air or fuel to the engine. Besides, with these trucks fuel is usually not an issue, mine for instance can black out a 2-lane road no problem if I wanted it, it's the air we're lacking to make power.

Since the CDR function is to keep the engine oil in the engine instead of in the cylinders burning as fuel, cleaning the CDR may actually mean less power.

Motor oil has a higher BTU content than diesel does.

But the lower BTU content also means you will be less likely to stretch head bolts on the 6.9.

Oh well dont tell my imagination. I guess it might be the same thing going on as when I wash it and it seems to run better.

i have always felt that when it is clean and shiny, it is better overall in the performance department!
