Cool Need some help

Ok my truck starts and idle's like a champ but when I put fuel to it it fall's on its nose. Like there is no fuel there or something. I changed the fuel filter and I am changing plugs and wires today but a friend told me it could be a valve. If so whats the best way to check? It has a 2 bbl carb on it and im getting to good streams of fuel into the carb. Some people have already posted some stuff for me but I have already tried those things. Anyone have any other ideas?

does it cut out as soon as you hit the throttle or after you hold it open for a bit? if its immediate you could be getting too much fuel and flooding it out. if its after holding it open it could be running out of fuel it the float bowls. Check float adjustment.

If your floats check out alright I would attack the accelerator pump.
