i would like to remove the air pump on my88 5.8, is there a part # for a shorter serpentine belt?

Goodyear Gatorback 4060935 might do the trick. It is listed for use on 351W engines in vehicles over 8500 GVW. I have been waiting to verify this on my own '92 F350.

With A/C. At several different online retailers I have found listings for my F350 w/351W. They are split out by GVW. The over 8500 GVW trucks were not supposed to have air pumps, that would explain why there is a shorter belt. My truck is just under 8500, so I have one. I have not tried removing the air pump yet to try out the theory. It's on the list of things to do.

My 87 with a 351 is over 8500 GVW, has a carb but yet had two air pumps on it?

They where both driven by a separate belt, a small narrow serpentine belt, off the alternator IIRC? while everything else on it was driven by V belts.
