I am new to Fords. I just picked up a 1982 Ford F250 w/400 cid. The 16.5" wheels need to go. Does anybody have a clue what year of ford rims I can go up to? Some of the Ford Aluminum wheels will work just fine for me in the "looks dept". Also anything older? I may be able to acquire 15" 8 lug wheels off of a 1966.
Up to 1997 8 lug Ford, pattern you want is 8x 6.5 in. After that they went to a 8x170 mm lug pattern. So anything off of a "Superduty" wont fit. Chevy and Dodge still use 8x6.5 wheels though but have a smaller center bore on stock wheels, but a lot of aftermarket wheels will still fit a ford if you find them on a Cheby.
If you are just looking for stock steel wheels I know my 84 F250 has 16" 8 lug wheels, not 16.5". I also agree with 86BigRed, 15" wheels may not clear your brakes on a F250.
