Short bed? I do not think those were available in the F250s. Something does not add up. Not to sound like a downer, but I hope the owner did not do the work himself. If he is mechanically inclined and did the work himself, then he should be able to diagnose the problem.
I am not trying to rain on you, but I just want you to be informed and prepared when you go to talk with this seller.
well its a 6ft bed and normally i call it a short bed but idk. the only reason he told me he can't really fix the problem is that he is in college and he just has never no free time to do anything and also that he don't know what the exact problem is, he thinks its either the clutch pressure plate or the clutch linkage
Neither did I, but they are not all that hard to learn. All we are trying to tell you is to go in there with a very critical eye, and do not trust what he says. If it has a 6 foot bed and is badged as an F250 from this era, he is tryingto get over on you (unless the frame is shortened, at which point, run). You might actually make out in the deal too. Just go in to the situation as educated as you can about the differences between the F-150's and F-250's so you can see any visual cues. If he does not have time to adjust a mechanical clutch (I think they had them then) but has time to replace a transfer case and do the other stuff, there is a problem.
It could turn out to be a deal, but none of us want to see you get cheated. Just educate yourself as well as possible.
yeah. that may be true but im really hoping to go and see the truck in person so i really know what it is and if it runs and shifts nice and easy but if i do get the truck i will change the linkage into a cable like how my dad had on his truck
