My 05 F150 wont start. Everything works fine but when i turn the key nothing happens. I removed the starter and had it tested but it was ok.
Prior to the truck not starting, for a couple weeks I would go to start it and nothing would happen but after a couple of turns of the key it would start. Now it won't. Any suggestions on what could be my problem. I already check fuses. Thanks
If the battery and starter check out,the problem is likely in the ignition switch..especially since you could try it a few times, and it would work before...
I remember having read a post on a thread somewhere on this site about the cable from the battery to the starter going bad. Have you checked the power to the starter from the battery?
thanks for all the suggestions. I still haven't figured it out. I changed the ignition switch and that wasn't it. I tried my spare key and the security light on my dash is on.I do have power to the starter but only on one side. Does anyone have any other suggestion i would love to hear them. I'm out of ideas and sick of working on it. I will probably end up taking it in unfortunately. Thanks again

Did you check to see if the starters' wire to ground is tight and clean?

The starter grounds through the bolts to the block.
The key transponder sensor may have failed. It is mounted in the column. If it failed it will not read the key resulting in the problem you are having.
probably a problem in the column, when the key turns in the ignition a rod also turns(supposed to turn but the problem is that it doesn't turn enough) thus not turning the electical portion of the system. if your good you can take off the column cover and pop off the electrical portion of the ignition(left side of column straight across from the ignition switch) and turn it with a screwdriver, truck should start with key in the ignition in the on position(to allow the anti theft portion of the ignition system to work). sounded good when i was thinking!
Have you tried checking codes? This may help point you in the right direction. I have seen the pcm relay go bad a couple of times. When you got to pull codes, there will be no communication with the pcm. This will mean that your pcm is probably not getting power.
To test, all you need to do is swap the upper 2 relays in your fuse box at the passanger side kick panel. I have only seen this happen a couple of times, but it may work.
