Dana 50 IFS u joint
I'm replacing the front u joints on my 84 f250 6.9 and while I have done u joints with external clips, I have never done one with internal clips. The u joints are original and the caps don't seem to have a clip, but more of a tab towards the inside of the yoke. I've been trying to break the tabs so the caps will come out, but thats a pain. It's not held in by plastic, because nothing came out when I used my torch.
Any tips for getting the caps off this u joint?

The caps have a groove all the way around them where they come through the yoke and have a snap ring in the groove.
The easiest way is just to cut all four arms of the cross and drive the caps inwards without trying to remove the snaprings.
