nitto terra grapplers 285/70/17

I have an 03 supercrew fx4 with no suspension mods. I am looking to buy a set of nitto terra grapplers and would like to know if anyone likes these tires. I want to squeez a set of 285/70/17s onto it. Will they fit or rub are there any modifications I need to make to the truck. Any help is appreciated.
thanks
Joe

The size will fit with no problem. I would look closely at the tire specs on the Terra Grapplers. The standard load version, which is plenty for our trucks, has a pretty thin tread, only 11 or 12 /32nds if I recall. They are well priced but how long will they last? I ended up choosing something similarly priced but much more agressive. So far I love them through rain, snow, dirt, rocks, and on pavement.

ive got terra grapplers. my tire size is 355/60/20. these tires make absolutely no noise on the road, and even at high speeds. yes they do wear faster then most but the tire is great and looks great. place i bought mine at said they have a life of about 35k-40k miles. that pending on how often you rotate and how hard you are on them.

What did you get instead of the Grapplers? Mine wear too fast for my money.

This time around I bought Dunlop's new Maxx Traction MT's. I dont drive the Expy daily so I figured I could go more agressive. I'm not sure how long they are going to last, MT's dont have the best reputation for long life. They are winter rated and that was a prime concern of mine. For more money, I had great luck with Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor AT's. I got over 50k miles out of a set on a Dodge Cummins. Michelin is more yet but the milage champ, they wear like iron.
