i just pulled my poor old 300 out to make room for a new(er) 302 and to my dismay the 300 mounting brackets are to far forward for the 302. Anyways my question is; does ford or some other company, still make these brackets new, i could try scavenging the local scrap yard for some but, the few fords there are quite picked over (mostly from me) and i don't want to have to pull a engine for two mounting brackets. i thought about trying to make some but i just don't want to chance it.
hey, i did the same thing. I called the not so local salvage yard and asked them if they had a truck the same make, model, and year, but with the engine i wanted to put in. told them them what i was after and they pulled them out for me. ussually if you telll the buys out at the yard what you are trying to do they will now what parts you may need.
I paid them about 40 or 50 buckes for mine and it was well worth it. these bracets are riveted in so you will have to cut them out with a torch. once you have the bracets. use Grade 8 Bolts to rebolt to your truck after you torch out the ones in yout truck.
