Hey guys, Been posting around this forum for a couple weeks and finally got my '86 f250XL Reg LB 4x4 Diesel t19 4spd! Yeah!!
Well any way, Time to find out what I got. SO....
Like I said, It is an 86 F250 6.9L diesel and the T19 4spd 4x4, But I think it is a F250HD, and I'm pretty sure that it has whatever ford put on it for the snowplow package.
I looked underneath it and found fuel tank skid plates, Transfercase skidplates, but no front diff skidplate, (may have been taken off). It has power steering, power brakes, NO AC (never had it), but it does have factory Cruise control (working, amazingly enough).
So what else does the snowplow package have included?
The skid plates are not part of a "snowplow" package. I have seen two different trucks with skid plates, and they do not have one for the frontend. The skid plates you listed are the only ones I have ever seen offered.
The only piece I know of that is different for a snowplow could possibly be the frontend. It could have the dana 50 ttb. But don't be surprised if you have the dana 44ttb instead, most trucks had those frontends.
If you want to make sure it's a heavy duty model originally, you can tell by the GVWR on the door jamb sticker, and also if it has the original rearend, you should have a large piece sticking out of the center of the rear rim. Being it's a diesel, it's going to be a HD, but everything else should match up also.
Ok, Well I'll have to look behind the chrome dog dish wheel covers as it has all four! Would the HD have those? How do those come off, just pop them off?
I believe it does have the Dana 50 TTB up front, as it looks extremely heavy duty under the front. The Leaf springs on the front are HUGE. It is a TTB front though, not a solid axle.
Leaf springs up front look the same for either one. Your hubcap in the back should stick out a lot to cover the full floating axle. A 1/2 ton and a light duty 250 will not have anything sticking out in the center of the back wheel.
