i just had the sct tuner put on "wow" woke the truck up ,but i just used the towing tune and now as it climbs up hills or shifts gears theres like a long purg of air that blowes until ether i let off gas or floor it. i know the tubo releases pressure as you drive but this air sound goes on for a long time, not sure about power loses cause thruck is still to new to me.2001 f250 7.3 powerstrock.. any help. the only thing on truck is cold air filter but that has been done months ago....
Have you got the SCT where you can monitor engine parameters? You didn't specify, but have you upgraded the exhaust and installed an EGT probe in the maniford or up pipe?
Back to your question, if you're not hearing that kind of surge, what boost pressure are you at when the noise happens? Maybe you're hearing the wastegate?
The other possibility is you're just hearing the normal turbo noises through the cold air intake. The tuner may have woke things up enough that you can now hear it.
Instead of saying a long time, tell us how many seconds this noise goes on for. Is it a high pitched sound or a low tone?
