You are probably hearing turbo surge which is hard on the turbo. Installing a WW on the compressor side is suppose to reduce or eliminate it.

Here is a little video showing the surge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evGFfuhUaRM

Wicked wheel. It replaces the stock compressor wheel on the turbo.

Have you got the SCT where you can monitor engine parameters? You didn't specify, but have you upgraded the exhaust and installed an EGT probe in the maniford or up pipe?

Back to your question, if you're not hearing that kind of surge, what boost pressure are you at when the noise happens? Maybe you're hearing the wastegate?

The other possibility is you're just hearing the normal turbo noises through the cold air intake. The tuner may have woke things up enough that you can now hear it.

Instead of saying a long time, tell us how many seconds this noise goes on for. Is it a high pitched sound or a low tone?

I think you are just hearing the turbo spooling up and sucking air. Can't really tell though with out some more information.

Sound like the air going back out the air intake if of course you have a cold air intake.
