i was going thru u-joints once a year-come to find out yoke and drive shaft ends were chewing them up. so i got a new yoke and sent the drive shaft out to have two new ends welded on and balanced. so my question is does something look odd in these photos! i know they got rid of the boot in the front, but shouldn't the skinny part of the shaft be towards the yoke?
Ive had a custom made driveline before that they did that, granted it had a 9" suspension lift on it but I never had a problem with it in fact I liked it alot. It shouldnt matter though as long as its properly balanced, some of the best drivelines Ive ever seen were designed for trail rigs and they were this design and they had mosr spline than tube or were a similar balance at least. much harder to twist the spline than the tube.
I got wobble play in my yoke in the t-case.
I think its creating vibrations.
Thats why I wanted the measurements from somebody else about how far their yoke is extended out of the t-case, but nobody replied to it.
wobble play? as in up down etc, or as in rolling play, if its up down etc, Id check your bearings on the output shaft. rolling play could be signs of need ing a rebuild if the slop is too excessive as some up to 90* of rotation could be called the max of normal.
