Im in the middle of pulling my dash pad out when i get to the last two nuts, the one in the middle front and the drivers side front corner, and wouldn't u know it they turn but do not come off, anyone ever have this problem??? I'm gonna pull the front dash section off to paint anyways but wanted to know of any solutions other than holding the bolt with a pair of pliers and hopfully not marring up the threads. Any suggestions would be taken onto consideration.
Tape up a flat head and put it between the pad and dash. Apply pressure by prying the pad away from the dash. While doing that try to undo the nut with your wrench. It is delicate work but I have been successful that way in the past.
You can cut the heads off too. The pad will lift off then and you can then figure out how to keep the part in the pad from spinning. You are going to have to do that anyway in order to reinstall it. You would have to get 2 replacement bolts though.

I'm pulling the front section of the dash of to paint the metal anyways so ill just put the pad back on while out of the truck, so ill make the hold the threads thing work instead of risking permenant damage to the pad beings they are so damn expensive. (Thats why im going with painting the interior in the first place, on top of having a creme center console and slate gray seat trim w/blue dash and door panels so everything is going to be flat black. Hoping the high adhesion promoter in the paint will bind with the carpet. My auto body guy suggested the paint to me and said it doesnt make the carpet stiff.) Thanks to all for the advise, I really appreciate the input and out of the box ideas and suggestions everybody had to offer.
