2 Funny sounds
Ok, so just to lay it out there this is what i have.
2000 F250
V10 4X4
110k miles
auto tranny
Extended Cab Lariat
Now my questions to you Guru's, i am pretty handy with cars and trucks and i have BIG plans for this one. So if this repair is anything short of a rebuilt tranny i can fix it myself.
1st set of weird noises happens when i press on the gas lightly when driving, it sounds like a grinding sound, its not very loud, now if i step on the gas for normal accelerationi hear that griding sound for only a second before its gone, now when i take my foot off of the gas i get that grinding sound again for about a second. so light driving causes the sound on both ends. So even if i stomp the gas and the truck is cruizin, i get that sound as soon as i let off of the gas. So this is a sound happeneing at all speeds so any help here would be nice.
Secondly, i cant determine the location of "Thunk" sound that is happening right before my truck is at a complete stop. so any advice on this would be great as well.
any diagnosis/ solution would be greatly appreciated.

My 450 super duty had a similar problem, heavy grinding on decell and at cruise speeds, truned out my pinion/bearing was junk and the sound traveled. i would pull rear cover and check, or pull out axles and stick a long magnet down the tube to see if metal comes with it.

Here in colorado we just had several inches of snowfall and i will have to wait for the weekend to check those things.

The buzzing/grinding sound might be the inspection plate on the front bottom of the tranny bellhousing. The V10 makes some weird harmonic vibrations, and that plate is known to buzz.
The thud could be a slip-joint needing greasing in the driveshaft.
