Tim has given me his expert advice on building my motor. Of course, I went to Tim for the parts and machine work. I always refer anyone who is interested in building any Ford motor to Tim. I assume that after receiving some advice, they will purchase some parts or machine work from Tim.
It's not Tim that is a jerk, but those who seek his advice and then buy parts from someone else.

BTW, Tim thank you for this magnificent motor. It's a real head turner. I get interest wherever I go.

[QUOTE=BigBlue&Goldie;8016829]. I would love to have you do all of my machine work as well, but living in Arizona would probably make shipping charges outrageous to send the block, rods and crank to you?

QUOTE]

This is a true statement. I drove to Fairmont, MN from Delaware twice when Tim was building my motor. The motor was finaly shipped to me by motor freight, but someone was able to get a fantastic price for me on that shipping, otherwise the cost would have been excessive.

It has been my feeling for some time, that Tim needs a Rep on the East and West coasts. They could shuttle parts back and forth using a truck and trailer. The cost of transportation would be defrayed by multiple orders in each load. They could also establish a relationship with a local machine shop to get the machine work done and use Tim's parts. Another function would be to supply sales information and technical advice to potential customers.

I sent Tim an e-mail asking for some help on camshaft selection for my son's 400. Can't post a picture of the 1956 ****** Station Wagon because I got in trouble here before for posting a picture of a non-Ford vehicle. He builds unique vehicles, all powered by the 400. He called me one evening to discuss the the request. He told me that talking on the phone, one-on-one, is better than cyber talk. He was extremely helpful and did not ask where I was going to purchase my parts. I told him that I live in Ohio, the home of Summit Racing, but would buy my parts from him for his help. He told me that he could be competive with the major suppliers, and in many cases, sell me just as good a part as the brand names for less.
Say what you like, a successful build is the right parts, recommended by an expert. Buy your parts from an expert and you will build a motor, not assemble a motor.
Thanks Tim
The Mud Rat

I have been working with Tim now for almost five years building my budget 434. I am almost done with it and if it were not for Tim taking time out of his day, I could only imagine were I would be now. So I do not think Tim is a jerk. If someone is willing to go to Tim for free advice then go buy parts elsewhere, then go seek advice elsewhere!! Keep up the good work Tim, I can't to talk with you again as I get ready to the "other" 434 on the dyno!!

my grandpa once told me you can't please everyone, and i don't think you're a jerk. it was your buildup that inspired me to keep my 400 and build it instead of just droppin in a 460.

Tim,

You have on more than one occasion helped me out with the engine build for my 400. Even after buying the parts from you on several occasions you provided invaluable information of recommendations for intake, carb, distributer timing etc that all were associated with the package you sold me.

To that end you provide excellent customer support. Just because you are not going to take the time and give your expertise to another shop that is making profit off your experience it not being a jerk, that is being a business man. You have a business and years of experience learned from that business.

I have shopped with you in the past and will do it again in a heart beat (hope wont have to for a long time though LOL).

Thanks for all the support both in my personal case and based on what I have read here to the Ford community in general.

Well Tim, in cases like this , yes please be a jerk! If you spent all your time for free on the telephone being helpful to non-financial supporters then we wouldn't have a TMI and would lose out on some great products, services and knowledge. You'll always be appreciated around here so no worries......

TMeyer is a jerk!!! A southern perspective.

Hello to everyone on the forum. It has been some time since I last posted but drop by from time to time.
Tim has supplied me with a short 434 stroker block, various 400 piston combinations, and has acted as an middle man for other manufacturers sending me transmissions and parts.
Not only has Tim gone out of his way to liaise with other businesses but also took the time to ensure the freight and packing was first class. Not bad when you think I live half a world away in a different hemisphere!
In fact, so impressed am I by Tim's honesty and service that I will not consider using anyone else to supply me with an engine and related components.
Tim has opened up a very satisfactory service for international customers and I for one are grateful.
