Villaraigosa's LAPD is getting tough on those that park on heavily-traveled throughways during "rush hours". It's his move to speed up traffic and alleviate traffic congestion.
It seems to be working, as traffic seems to be better than it once was here in the Valley..
Topanga certainly qualifies as a throughway, and they've done a pretty-good job of posting the times that the tow-away zones exist for those parked there.
Sorry you got a ticket, but it's kinda' difficult to say, "You didn't know....."

lol... i actually didnt see a sign and im never in that side of the valley... just there at a guitar place to pick up my daughters violin she needs for school... so i really didnt know... but oh well.. lesson learned...
