Which transmission kit?

Hello, I am currently rebuilding a 460 and a C6 transmission. For the transmission I need to upgrade it to handle the power of the built up 460. I also want the transmission to perform (shift) better. I am hoping to save some money by doing it myself, and am wondering which kit would give me the best bang for my buck?

If you can a C6 low gear kit works nice and helps on torque capacity. The TCI low gear kit has the better planetary set up over stock. Their are other companies out their like Hughes, good company, and several other that sell these kits. What are you driving and how do you want to drive it. Torque converter technology is another conversation. Just had a C6 rebuilt and had a older low gear kit but my torque converter stator give it up, again and scattered metal everywhere. I have now upgraded everything. Also torrington bearings are used in the lowgear kits which help on heat and helps tranny use less hrspwr. Talk to you later and good luck.

All these fellers sell parts and transmissions. Read through and they tell you what they do to their $1000 C6s, so maybe you can duplicate their beef up jobs:

I am putting it into a 1979 lincoln continental with a high powered 460 rebuild.
