200 K miles on My 85 6.9 with replacing 1 water pump, 2 batteries, 2 sets of Glow plugs.

If Your not mechanically inclined enough for that kind of work???

Tell Me they're more expensive again? That truck has out worked any gasser 2:1 You'd have replaced a 302 twice in 200K miles with the work that this truck has done.

If You bought a decent IDI, it'd be the LAST truck You ever bought.

Question New question

Since my most recent post, before this one, made it evident and obvious that my previous questions are answered beyond what they need to be (with thanks to those who actually positively stayed on point and answered them), and so such as continuing with and/or defending (such as "computer controlled", or "fuel injected", or any year model) is not called for or necessary, now a new question:

How do us members close and discontinue our threads?

You can't, only moderators and administrators have the power to do that.

Ok, I have found some do, some don't let members close and discontinue threads. Thank you for the answer for this site.

Arkad,

If you were to read the fine print of IB's user agreement and TOU you will find that the original poster of a thread can at any time request a thread be closed.

I will bring this to the attention of a moderator for you.

Is there any particular reason why you would want this thread closed?

The reason I'm asking is because it appears to be a good subject with good responses and others may still come in with pertinant questions or comments to add to this thread.

If no one else has anything to say, the thread will just drift away to another page in time, and with this forum, that time will be short.

Oh, welcome to FTE.

Cop Out ! ! ! !

Non-boss hat on now - I still don't understand why this thread needs closing.

Some things appeared which were off point, and other things appeared which seemed totally unnecessary/counterproductive (defensive, etc.).
So, I thought maybe this thread ought to be closed/discontinued lest more of that came and further distracted or detracted from the basic good it could otherwise do, and so I asked whether or not members can close/discontinue our threads.

And I'll admit to being curious anyway, about whether us members could close and discontinue any of our threads.

Now I know, and now it's time to move on anyway, right? (smile)

Oh and thank you for the welcome! (smile)

My questions have been answered and I've moved on to other things, folks.

So, since this thread apparently can't or won't be closed/discontinued, and I don't plan on bothering any more with it (and would really rather not receive any more "reply notices" to it in my email), evidently it will have to be buried under other things, off-point responses, responses indicating not paying attention, "hail mary" responses, and all.

Now where was I? Oh yes...Moving on to other things!

Click on user Control Panel and then 'unsubcribe thread' where it appears on that page.

You have positively contributed before now, I have thanked you, and once again it appears you have conducively contributed again, unless I have missed something and haven't yet discovered it as I have now acted according to your suggestion.

So, in the words of Sgt. Schultz (of Hogan's Hero's fame), "Thank you, I think"
