advice on buying
I am looking at a 86 F150 2wd with a 302 and AOD transmission with a 160,000 miles on it, the guy wants $850. The body isnt bad pretty solid and it seems to run good other than needing a ujoint in the driveshaft. Is it worth it? I love these trucks but I have never had a AOD or any automatic for that matter and I am just wondering how reliable they were with the 302? The truck will mainly be used for driving to my job and for some farm work as well. thanks

Check the fluid in the AOD. See if it is brown or burnt. I have never had any experience with those, but start with the basics for any automatic. As for the price, $850 sounds pretty good.
