44 stamp
I have a 95 model year f-150 with the IFS on the front gear housing there is a 44 stamp on it but there is nothing else on it. I cant find any where how many spline axles I have so I can get a rebuild kit and manual locking hubs for it. Its my daily driver so I really don't want to have to pull it apart to count could anyone help me PLEASE!!! thanks

You just need to get locking hubs for a Dana 44. They'll fit. What kind of rebuild kit are you talking about? Why do you need to know how many splines the axles are, and which splines are you talking about?

You can just go to the parts store and get bearings and seals. There isn't any such thing as a rebuild kit for that axle unless you are talking about replacing the ring & pinion. Why are you replacing the bearings and seals? Are they showing copper? Seals leaking grease?

There getting bad the last time I was out I had the left front hanging all the way down on the limiting strap and the right front compressed all the way up and my front end started grinding real bad so I got to lookin at it and the seals are completly gone and the front axles wont lock right when im in 4 low so im going to rebuild the front end ring and pinon seals bearings ball joints all Im gonna keep is the axles gear and housing most everything else is getting replaced.
