Have you tried the jaws of life?

Just kidding, have you tried to unplug the battery and see if you can pull up on the **** to unlock?

I wondered if anyone would question that. The door behind the driver is a passenger door that is on the drivers side.

Ahh, got it. What's the reason you can't pull the **** up? Just not enough to grab, or is it stuck?

If the lock slipped down under the panel (inside the hole). Take a paper clip straighten it out and make a little hook on the end to see if you can worm it over to the hole,to pop the door open.

Not sure if this is the issue, but worth a shot if it is.

Maybe it's all the way up and it's not locked. Does it move down?

The linkage from the handle could've broken off and as such, the handle is not able to move the latch mechanism.

it is in the lock position. The inside handle worked a couple times but not anymore.

Then I guess you're stuck having to remove the seat so that you can get the panel off.

I have found that removing the seat does not help. As the screws to the door panel go below the door jam. So I can not get to them unless the door is open.

I'm not sure about your 04 but my 99 has a child safety switch on the door by the latch, of course the door has to be open to access it which isn't much help to you right now, but I wonder if that didn't get bumped causing your problem, if yours has it that is. Any way what I would suggest is grabbing the **** with a pair of pliers and jiggling it up and down and see if it'll eventually work itself free.
