I have been having this problem for a few months now, and wanted to see if anyone could provide some insight into this issue. My truck has a stumble or partial miss under acceleration (usually only partial) but sometimes hard acceleration as well.
Truck is an 02 Ford F250 4x4 5.4 auto
I have K&N intake, and exhaust on the truck for mods, other than that stock. I have replaced 2 coil packs, spark plugs multiple times, oil, and fuel filter (twice). Also no CEL or codes present at all.
Here is the kicker, if I pour in a bottle of fuel injector cleaner and the problem goes away almost immediately, UNTIL I get gas again and the problem is back immediately until I pour in another another bottle of fuel injector cleaner.
My thoughts are the fuel pump is clogging up or the strainers are just full of crap and need to be replaced.
Please provide me with any help you can. Thank you in advance.
Ok today cleaned my K&N Air filter, and cleaned the MAF, and the problem is there but a little worse now. I put a bottle of FI cleaner in this afternoon and it did not fix it this time.
I've had the same issue 2001 F250 5.4 with 188,000 miles. Did coil packs, plugs, fuel filter, cleaned MAF.. Put in Injector Cleaner and it runs better until the next fill up. Have you had any luck figuring this one out?
