looks like you may have some sig issues... or something...

shoot Clay an email riffraffdiesel.com and pick up a MBRP exhaust. He has a great deal on them.

The stock mufler is restrictive and if you're not used to diesels then you may want to know that back pressure is not as essential on diesel as it is on Gassers, why do you think Semi trucks run straight pipes.
If you want to decrease exhaust temps (which is critical on a diesel engine) and reduce exhaust back pressure then go to a 4". From what I've read on this forum there's nearly no point in going bigger unless you go bigger on everything else too. We're talking injectors, intake, turbo, intercooler, the whole sha-bang.

As Layson said, give Clay a buzz, he'll hook you up.

In stock form these trucks will pull well. But, like on any combustion engine, if you let it breathe better, it'll pull better.
The stock exhaust is 3.5", but the down pipe is only 3". You can try to save money by putting in a 3.5" dp and different muffler, but by the time you are done cutting out the old pieces and trying to put in the new, you would have spent as much time putting in a full 4" exhaust.
I installed my 4" exhaust by myself. It was rather easy, except for the 4" dp. An extra pair of hands would have helped a lot!

If you're towing a 30' TT, a better exhaust and open intake can help you a lot. The intake can be had for pretty cheap, Riffraff made them that way. There is a lot of potential in these trucks/engines, and even if you don't plan on modifying anything else, a better exhaust and intake are a great investment!

I installed a five inch system on mine. I removed the muffler from my truck when I first got it, but I couldn't tell enough difference so I bought the five inch system. Like visseroth said, you don't really need anything bigger than 4, but I just liked the look of the 5 inch system.
