Ok so I know this is a truck site. But I have an error code on my 06' Mazda 6I.......The first one is P2187 - System lean at idle speed ( Bank 1 ) Im thinkin thats just an O2 sensor goin out. Correct me if Im wrong. And the second is P0455 ( Pending code ) EVAP emission control system leak ( Large ). I have no clue on where to start to solve that one. Ill check the vac lines and stuff tomorrow that I can see from the top and sides of the engine. But anyone know of anything else to look at? Thanks for the input and advice...
The first is probably a vacuum leak in the intake tract. The O2 sensor is simply reporting the sensed condition.
The second is a leak in the evaporative emissions system. It might be as simple as a loose or non-sealing fuel cap, a leaky vent solenoid, or an air leak elsewhere in the evap system that will require a smoke test to locate. Start with inspecting the fuel cap for security and the integrity of the seal. You might wish to replace it as they are not expensive if tightening it does not help. If the code occurs after that, find a shop with a smoke machine to test the system.
