C6/NP205 Question
Okay i have a 84 4x4 f150 and the tranny recently went out. It has the short tailshaft but i have another transmission with the long tailshaft. This one of course wont bolt up to my transfer case, but i heard they can make longer transfer case adapters. If anyone knows of where i can get one or if this is true please let me know.

The change requires a complete teardown of the trans. Find someone who can transfer the guts of the good trans to the proper case, or find another trans.
Think about adapting a long case--you have to move the TC and change the DS's.

I tried the complete teardown and switched the shafts but it ended up not working. He in return gave me another longshaft transmission. I heard i could change it but like you said it would be more of a pain to do that than find a short shaft that costs twice as much. Thank you for the info
