No clear plastic pouches were available. It was prolly a litter bag that someone installed there.

1973 was the first year the shift indicator lit up.

1965/66: The shift lever and turn signal ***** were black.

1961/64 F100/250 2WD Custom Cabs were available with a white steering wheel, white turn signal handle w/**** and white shift lever ****

The same turn signal handle was also used on 1960 Edsel's, 1960/62 Galaxies, 1960/63 Falcons/Comets, as was the white shift lever ****.

Look on the shift collar at the A/T shift indicator pointer...is it made as part of the shift collar itself, or is it plastic?

AHA! I assumed it was, since you have a light up dial.

Your truck has this: D5TZ7228A (replaced D3TZ7228A) .. Shift Collar Kit, includes the plastic pointer (D3TZ7A110A), which also could be bought by itself.

This shift collar has a rectangular slot in it for the plastic pointer...which just slides in. This shift collar is still available from Ford.

D5TZ7228A fits 1973/77 F100/350 A/T, and...

This shift collar kit is the FoMoCo replacing part for C9TZ7228A (which replaced C5TZ7228A), the collars used 1965/72. Both these collars have the pointer made as part of it.

So...D5TZ7228A fits 1965/77 F100/350 with an A/T.

What someone has done is...gone to a wrecking yard and got the bulb and socket used with this collar and installed it in your truck.

Or had the dealer do it...if they were the one that replaced the collar. Or a former owner was a Ford partsman!

These parts did not come in the kit since the dial did not light up till 1973.

btw: Didn't you ask this question several weeks ago or was that somone else?

Whoever it was, I typed this same info at that time.
