Newbie here, I have a SCT XCalibrator 2 SF, it 3 programs from the factory economy, towing and performance. I have read on here that there are some guys that have made better gains than the canned ones. First, I have a 2003 F-250, 7.3L, automatic. Second, can I add one or two new custom tunes? I forgot to call SCT directly to ask them. Thanks, FTE rocks.
Welcome to FTE. I'm not sure of the SCT I think Jody at DP Tuner can do something with it but not 100% certain, Others will chime in so here is a a bump/
I have an Xcal2 with Jody's tunes. I had the superchips canned tunes before that came with my truck, and Jody's are WAY better.
I don't see the 7.3 tunes on his site for the Xcal, so I would call Jody and make sure he is still doing them. If so, your Xcal2SF can be loaded with custom tunes, but it will delete the canned tunes that are on it.
I think SCT has stopped allowing Jody to do any modifying of their product. EPA issues.
Well that's crappy. I have an xcal2 just sitting here brand new that I was going to use on my supercharged v6 mustang, but the new tuner wants me to us a chip instead. It would be cool if I could get a few programs for the sct to work on my truck for now until I can get the f5 or f6 chip from dp. I really like the 80e tune in my brothers truck and I want the 120 tune as well. Actually I want a lot of the tunes available for the f5 and f6 chip, I just can't swing the cost right now.
